Rather than being direct implementers of programs aimed at addressing social need within communities, our approach is to build the capacity of Community Based Organisations (CBOs), already doing this work within communities.
We believe that this methodology is superior, in terms of ensuring effective, independent and long term social intervention for distressed widows, orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). There are no quick fixes within communities and we therefore take a long term mentoring approach to create much needed capacity.
The benefits of the proposed partnership to our Vision Partners are as follows:
- Good Individual/Corporate Citizenship: It is an opportunity to contribute towards community development within Lower Africa.
- Tax Efficiency: Monies donated to Pro-Vision are tax deductible for Canadian Citizens.
- Corporate Social Responsibility: Your involvement would boost your score in terms of CSR involvement. This adds value to from the smallest business to giant corporations.
- Peace of Mind: By supporting the capacity building work of Pro-Vision and routing project funding through Pro-Vision, you are assured that its funding will be well managed and appropriately deployed for the purpose for which it was intended.
- Cause Related Marketing (CRM): Opportunity to promote a product or service of the organisation by donating a percentage of its sales to the work of Pro-Vision.
- PR and Marketing: Opportunity to showcase the social conscience of the organisation by highlighting its partnership with Pro-Vision
- Informed Staff: It is an opportunity to expose your staff to the realities of marginalised communities thereby broadening their horizons and understanding of global challenges and to win their hearts and minds in terms of nation building activities.
- One Degree of Separation: Pro-Vision mentors would be pleased to tour you through any of the Pro-Vision projects giving you only one degree separation from your donation to the work on the ground.
- Staff Giving: By initiating a “Give As You Earn” (GAYE) or Matched Giving scheme, staff are afforded the opportunity to give financially in a tax deductible manner.
- Accountability: Pro-Vision provides reports to its Vision Partners in terms of how funding has been utilized.
- Outsourced CSI: Organisations are able to effectively outsource their CSI involvement to Pro-Vision, rather than attempting to do it in-house. After all, development work involving the capacity building of CBOs is our core business. Our mentoring programme will ensure that a CBO becomes effective, independent and continues to operate after we have completed our work with them. The benefit to Pro-Vision is that we receive funding which enables us to continue building the capacity of CBOs around Lower Africa.
